Benefits Of Working With A Recruiter

We found out how artificial intelligence generates reports on several possible advantages of working with a recruiter for job searches. The numbered items you'll notice below were powered by AI and these statements seem to be intended as factual selling points, yet we at Admiral Staffing feel you deserve reasonable answers that are not so sugar coated and that's why we're providing Admiral Insights in response to the numbered statements below - Admiral Insights will tell it like it really is!😀

AI Report: Using a recruiter to find a job can offer several advantages:

1.) Expert Guidance: Recruiters function as career coaches, providing tips and tools to help you land your dream position.

Admiral Insight: We agree with this statement that we function as career coaches and can offer expert guidance with tips and tools, though it's important to understand that not everyone has a "dream job" which is perfectly ok, but if you do have a dream job, we will listen as you explain your vision for it to us and then, based upon what we learn from you, plus, our knowledge of your chosen field and the timeline we speculate as a condition for landing such a job, we will tell you honestly if we think that pursuing your dream job is a practical and attainable goal.

2.) They can recommend changes to your resume, help you prepare for interviews, and provide feedback

Admiral Insight: Of course, you can count on us to help you in those ways!.
3.) Time-Saving: Recruiters can save you time by searching job boards and sending applications on your behalf.

Admiral Insight: Although we often review job boards to keep ourselves in the loop on posting activity by various companies, it's inaccurate to claim that we will search job boards and send in applications on your behalf. It's more accurate to explain that what Admiral Staffing will do is not as random as searching jobs boards in order to save you time. Instead, we may provide you with an overview of available opportunities at certain companies and/or, we can discuss specific jobs. Once you verify your interest, we can send select companies your resume and in doing so, you'll be considered an applicant for current and possibly future positions with those organizations.

4.) They spend their workday trying to find candidates for their clients, allowing you to focus on other obligations.

Admiral Insight: The statement above is such a generality it probably should not be considered as an advantage of using a recruiter to find a job - the statement is more of an example of shallow artificial intelligence. Recruiters spend their workdays recruiting - a fact that superficially relates to you allowing yourself to focus on other obligations.

5.) Larger Network: Recruiters have extensive networks and connections in various industries. By using a recruiter, your network grows exponentially, increasing your chances of finding a suitable job.

Admiral Insight: Yes, we have connections in various industries, though this does not automatically mean your network will grow and your chances of finding a suitable job will be increased. Although it can happen, if you decide to look for a position that isn't closely related to your education, and/or it's in an industry where you do not have current or previous experience, it's important to be aware of the time it may cost you to actually secure the right job - and you shouldn't hesitate to let us understand why you may want to take such a step. We'll support you by discussing job titles, current marketplace requirements, and pay rates for positions outside of industries where you've spent your career so far. Our talks with you can help identify your transferable skills and assist in determining whether those skills are solid enough for you to successfully move forward in new directions.

6.) Understanding Job Requirements: Recruiters spend a lot of time talking to hiring managers to understand job openings. They pass this information on to you, giving you insight about the job before going through the recruitment process.

Admiral Insight: We are mainly in agreement with this statement though it's not typical for busy hiring managers to spend time in meetings with us. More typically, we strive for productive conversations with human resource professionals since they are responsible for communicating their organization's hiring goals and representing the preferences of hiring managers.

7.) Recruiters have a better understanding of the current job market and can provide you with relevant knowledge of a company’s culture and the hiring manager’s personality.

Admiral Insight: We can definitely share our understanding with you regarding a company's culture and while it is not a given, we sometimes have reliable knowledge of a hiring manager's personality.

8.) Recruiters understand what the hiring manager is looking for beyond the job description.

Admiral Insight: Most official job descriptions contain the phrase "must have", although other details that may be helpful for you to know aren't always included in those same job descriptions. As recruiters, we are expected to abide by the must have requirements and refer candidates with industry related skills and experience; however, we can leverage the trusted relationships we've built with companies over the years of service we have provided by finding out whether it's necessary for candidates to meet each and every specified skill requirement listed in the description. We will ask which "must have" is absolutely vital to success in the role and what may be mastered on the job. Additionally, sometimes we learn that a hiring manager is willing to be flexible with their expectations when it comes to years of experience, and as a result, hiring decision makers may consider interviewing a candidate with relevant educational credentials, yet fewer total years in the workforce (than the job description calls for). There are many other examples of what we as recruiters may understand beyond the job description.

9.) Salary Negotiation: Many recruiters get paid on commission, based on what you earn during your first year as an employee. Their goal is to get you the highest salary possible.

Admiral Insight: We find the statement above offensive - it's a stereotype of a greedy recruiter, not how Admiral Staffing operates. We are driven by best practices, this translates to doing what is best to help you get a desirable job offer without us considering the dollar amount of any potential fee for which we may be eligible. And to better address the issue of salary negotiation you should know that we can handle salary negotiations on your behalf by representing your concerns candidly and carefully. Our professional standing with companies is the advantage we bring to the table. Whereas if you were to go through this phase alone, it can be a somewhat inefficient experience since you would not have had a prior human resources business partner (HRBP) type of relationship like we have established with the company and therefore you would not have the same knowledge that we do of factors such as department budgets, urgency to fill the job and other candidates possibly being considered, all factors that may influence a company's hiring decisions.

10.) No Cost to You: The company hiring is usually the one who pays the recruiter’s fee. This means you can benefit from a recruiter’s services without any cost to you..

Admiral Insight: Correct. You will not be asked to pay fees. Companies are responsible for paying placement fees.
